That a Girl

In 1931 the Chattanooga Lookouts hire a girl pitcher named Jackie Mitchell. It was her very first game too. She threw left handed and she struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Two legendary baseball players. How her career started that she would wait for her dad to come home .She had used her dad’s baseball mit it was a little big but she maneged to make it work . When he got home they would practice and play ball all day long. Ever sense they do it all the time. Until one day she was in her room and her dad came home. But her mom and dad were talking and so she listened through the thin walls. She heard that her dad lost his job. The  Great  Depression had hit Chattanooga which made life hard. Her dad went on a train to look for other jobs. Then the big game she walked on to the field and waved everyone was screaming. She had even took out some powder and dabbed her nose with it. The game started first up to bat was Babe Ruth himself. Jackie wasn’t nerves at all.She wound up her arm and he swung and missed two times the next pitch was a strike 3 batter out. Jackie struck out Babe Ruth.

Colonist Taxes

We did an activity where we had cups of green mints as money. So there was the king and two tax collectors and the king read cards. Lone of them said”if you have a pencil on your desk then you owed two mint coins. Or if you had brown hair then you had to pay two mint coins so that’s what we did and it was fun too.I learned how it felt to pay taxes.Because I thought that we should have all had to pay the same thing and not only those particular people. So it would be fair.So now I know how the colonist felt when they had to pay tax.

2014 and 2015

In 2015 the one thing I will never forget is when my softball team got fourth in our first twelve U tournament . I was so happy. We were playing against girls way bigger than us. Even  some of the other coaches from other teams said that we were doing really good, because we were so small compared to the other teams. I got really excited after that. We played really good for our first twelve U tournament. For 2015 I would like to go to Six Flags. I think it would be really cool. My friends have told me that there’s roller coaster and all sorts of fun rides. The ones I really want to ride is the Texas Giant a “roller coaster”, and the Superman that shoots really high in the air. That’s what I would like to do in 2015.
